How to measure
Headroom is the space between the top of the finished opening and the ceiling — or, if something hangs lower, the space to that: a pipe, a beam, a light, the opener rail. Measure at the tightest point across the whole opening.
Two more numbers help us confirm the fit: side room, from each side of the opening to the wall (about 5″ each side for a standard track), and backroom, the depth straight back into the garage (your door height plus about 18″).

The Safe-Way Deluxe Series is a 24-gauge steel garage door — heavier than most builder-grade doors — available in non-insulated and insulated (R-6.0) construction. It offers a clean modern flush face alongside traditional raised-panel and carriage house styles, and we stock it locally for faster installs.

The Deluxe Series is Safe-Way’s workhorse residential line and one of our best-selling doors at Modern Decor Supply. Built in Warsaw, Indiana from 24-gauge steel — heavier than most builder-grade doors — it covers everything from a clean flush face to traditional raised panels and carriage house styles, backed by a limited lifetime warranty. We stock Deluxe doors locally, which means faster turnaround for New Jersey installs than special-order-only dealers can offer. Every quote is a complete installed price covering the door, installation by our own crews, haul-away, weatherstripping, and trim.
Construction
- 24-gauge section steel with a four-layer finish: finished painted coat over a primer coat, galvanized layer, and steel core.
- Heavy-duty galvanized 14-gauge hinges.
- Tongue-and-groove section joints for a tight seal between panels.
- 1-layer (steel) and 2-layer (steel + polystyrene insulation with vinyl backing) construction. Insulated models rated R-6.0.
- Available in 18″, 21″, and 24″ section heights.
- Limited lifetime warranty against rust-through for the original homeowner in single-family residential installations (10 years in other residential installations).
